My Dogs
This story is very sad but very true. A couple years ago, I used to live in the country. I had 2 Welsh Corgies named Buddy and Ellie. So one day my family and I went to go out to my favorite resturant, the Olive Garden. Apparently the house we bought had a hole in the fence, the perfect size for Buddy to get into the the orchard. So when we left, he snuck his way into the orchards. On his way back from his little walk, he met face to face with a hungry coyote. They started to fight so 1 would be dead, the other victorious. When my neighbors heard barking, crying, and howling, they started dialing our number and screaming. After about 1 hour later the panicking and fighting had stopped. They saw the coyote dead and Buddy bleeding, skin covered red. So on his way back, he walked into the street that separates houses from the orchards, and the street was always busy. He was walking across the road, a car didn't see him and hit him on accident. He was slammed onto the ground and couldn't get up. He started wimpering to Ellie as if he was saying he was going to die. My neighbors were so devistated, that they wanted to help him live. He was almost out of blood. My neighbors put him next to Ellie. After about 1 more hour we came home and he was strong enough to stand up. He went to meet us at the door step. We decided to take to a vet, and we moved away from the country. Now we live in a big, beautiful house with a ginormous pool. And we also have Buddy recovered and the other dog, Ellie, at this time.
Sadly, this part of the story didn't turn out to be a happy ending. We were out grocery shopping on a rainy day. When we got home, I helped unload the groceries and went up to my room. I looked out my window, which has a perfect view of the pool, to see how much it was raining. But my attention turned to something that looked like a HUGE piece of cardboard. Then the shape looked like a dog. Then, I realized, one of the dogs had drowned and floated to the surface. It looked like it was Buddy and I was screaming my sister's name (since Buddy is Alyssa's dog). Then I heard the door slam and heard my mom screaming Ellie's name and crying. I ran downstairs to go outside and she was right. It wasn't Buddy, it was one of the best dogs in the world, Ellie. Ellie was the most amazing dog ever, loyal, fun, and could eat a lot. Anyway, dad took the pool scoop and scooped her up and put her on the ground to dry. We watched my dad dig a big hole in the front of the barbeque, in her favorite spot. Then my mom told me and Alyssa to draw pictures and write poems for Ellie, then bring the pictures and poems to her with a big, warm beach towel. We did exactly as told. Then we watched daddy bury Ellie's body in the hole. Me and Alyssa got a big vase then picked flowers and put water in the vase. Once the towel was laid on her, we put the pictures and poems in then buried her. We put the vase by her spot and prayed that she would like it in heaven. Then we went inside and sat on the couch, staring at the blank T.V, dad putting his hand over the spot Ellie used to lie down on. After a few months, we decided to make her a grave. So we painted a special stone and put it by her spot. I will never forget her. She was like one one of my best friends. This is one of those stories that you can talk about and still be happy and not depressed all the time, but something you will never forget. In loving memory of Ellie, R.I.P.
