Writing and Technology Workshop by Katelynn M
We do a lot, and I mean a lot, of writing, using computers, and publishing our work over here. We write and type for three hours, and the teachers make it fun! Where I'm talking about is at the Writing and Technology Camp at our very own Ripon High School (RHS)! Let me tell you some of the activities kids like me do around here. We have all the teachers from Mr.Fern, computer genius, to Mrs. Techeira and Mrs. Hale, who are awesome instructors. In the very first day of the camp, the teachers gave all the kids numbers from 1-41. I just have to say, that is A LOT of kids to number. Anyway, if you were an odd, you would go to G-5, the writing classroom, first then the computer lab last. The exact opposite with the evens. So everyday, we get to the writing classroom and start our W.O.T.D, or word of the day, which is different every single day of the two weeks of the program. Anyway, it's called writing and technology for a reason. We write and listen for and 1 1/2 hours and then we have break, and then we go to the RHS computer lab, except on Wednesday, that's when we go to the Ripon elementary computer lab, because the high school is occupied. But, instead of the camp being like a school, the instuctors let us talk, and whisper, and partner up, and laugh, and have fun. And the best part is, you might think they would give us writing homework, but they don't! If I were you, I would start saving some moolah, and come here next year, and the next year, and the next! That's what I am planning to do. This place is amazing with all the fun, so come and join me and the rest of the students at the camp next year!
